Objectives

After reading this chapter, the software developers and students will be able to

learn Hyperledger Fabric together with an understanding of its critical concepts

and terms and professionals to meet their professional goals will be able to

learn, explore, and evaluate how blockchain technologies can help them.

The chapter starts with an explanation of Hyperledger Fabric within

Hyperledger, which is one of the blockchain proj ects. The concepts of shared

ledger, smart contracts, privacy and consensus, are described. Hyperledger

Fabric version, Hyperledger is a modular blockchain, how it is useful for plug-

and-play are explained. Further explained are Hyperledger, greenhouse

structure, Hyperledger framework, use cases—

post-trade processing, ocean to

table. A description of SAP, SAP HANA, and Hyperledger is provided.

Hyperledger fabric—what is it?

The modular architecture underpinning Hyperledger Fabric delivers a high

degree of confidentiality, resiliency, flexibility, and scalability. A platform for

distributed ledger solutions is designed to support the economic ecosystem

with pluggable implementations of varied components as also it accommodates

the existing complexity and intricacies.

A collaborative approach is encouraged through a community process to

develop blockchain technologies that encourage over a period of time open

development and the adoption of key standards and advance cross-industry

blockchain technologies rather than declaring a single blockchain standard
